Truss Rod Case - 1/2" Bare Wood Crate Style - Kit Form - Small Size

Have assembled 1 of two cases. Well engineered. Wish they used screws instead of rivets. Had enough parts to assemble and everything lined up fine. I will epoxy-glue the seams and put 1/4 round reinforcement glued in to add strength. Fits my budget.

Great case, everything fit together just right. The only thing is that the rivets used don't really hold very well, (they don't go all the way through the wood, no backing on the inside) but if you know this in advance, you can drill holes and put in real bolts to replace them. This makes for a very solid case. I always buy the cheapest road cases I can find and shore them up with real bolts. Never had a problem on the road with a case reinforced like that.

I ordered 3 of these kits to assemble. Two of them were very carefully packed using foam as a protector in between the wooden sheets; however the third one seemed hastily packed with no thought to it. As a result, the third one had damaged metal braces on the ends of the boards that I had to straighten out. All three came up 3-4 bolts short of what was needed to assemble. The packing sheet incorrectly lists 44 bolts as what is needed; counting the number of holes predrilled, there should be 48. One pre-drilled hole was missing on one of the box sides and I had to drill it myself. Also, $15 seems a lot to pay for the amount of sheet foam that came with each crate. The amount I received was not enough to fully cover the inside of the box, which was what I had expected. The assembled crates are sturdy, and they were otherwise easy to assemble and well-labelled.
